I would not like all the rain and cold cold weather that you all have but would like to work with you all to see how differently you do things. It was 61 degrees here yesterday and 35 degrees today. I am in the process of reconductoring 7 spans of wire. Retiring 4/0 copper and replacing with 266 ACSR. With 4 transformers 2 taps and a capacitor bank on it..
That's what my stories an pictures are all about. Sharing with others. Love being a lineman and have been lucky enough to work in many countries over the years. It's funny how many different ways people do the "SAME JOB "
At the end of the day it's just moving electricity from one place to another.
As you know. Two charge hands in the same company will do exactly the same job THEIR WAY. LOL
I've learned that its all down to the country's system then it's down to regional variations but last and not least the way you've been trained and adapted that technique .. As long as its not un safe I will try whatever the crew I'm withs methods. NEVER TELL A LINESMAN " HIS WAY IS THE WRONG WAY " ( we've always done it that way, )
Better to quietly point out eventually that another crew I was with did it this way " and it seemed easier" WILL I SHOW YA THIER WAY OF DOING IT ? AND MAYBE YOU MIGHT STEAL SOME OF THIER METHODS FOR YOURSELFS

The best linesmen and best every job I reckon.. Is some one that's willing to learn from others and be humble, respect the old ways but never be afraid to embrace change.
I've been very lucky. .. And still am ,to be in a job I love. Ya get used to the weather and the rain.
AS ONE OF MY OLD BOSS'S USED TO SAY. get up that pole BREN . " but it's raining boss" SO WHAT ..YOU AIN'T MADE OF F..KING SUGAR. .
