Can you please add a 60" Panasonic 1080p plasma to your list for me? :D My 50" 720p is getting a bit dated. It would only be another $30 or $40 to cover mine.

I damn near bought that one yesterday Mike, that is a good price.
My DLP blew another bulb, that is getting annoying.

Nice set Mike... I feel like an idiot as my first 50" samsung plasma was $2600. Of course 4 weeks later it was $2200... but thats typical for electronics.

This could start an endless debate or a war... Samsung blows everthing else out of the water in the flatscreen dept, plasma, LED, LCD etc.

Stand way back and observe all the flatscreens from a goodish distance in your local brick and mortar... chances are the panels that stand out are Samsung. They sold me, I have 3 sammy flatscreens in my abode. :D

I've been happy with the 50" Panisonic plasma...I'll probably wait and see what else pops up between now and x mas.

The Boss wants me to head out on Black Friday and get one for $200. Uh.....no.

We do have a blue gob right in the center of our fairly new one, and I guess we are waiting for it to blow to purchase another. :rolleye:

OK...the wife wants a 3D TV.

I'm still looking at the Samsung and Panasonic but am not liking the fact that the passive 3D glasses are not available on the lower priced ones. I'm really leaning towards the plasmas because of price and the whole "black" thing...any thoughts?

55" and up...hopefully a 60-65"

I was going to suggest that you might as well get a 3D TV if you're shopping for a new one. They are getting pretty slick and there are some features that are coming in the future for 3D TVs that sound amazing.

I wouldn't mess with plasma anymore... they are cheaper and there's nothing wrong with them but they are an older technology that are starting to get outclassed, especially by the LED stuff. But that's just my opinion, I don't have any facts or specs to back that up beyond my own experience.

I've been reading that they have "almost" solved the issue with the "blacks" on the LEDs but some of the models are still having grey instead of black. I'm still looking. I think the prices will drop between now and Xmas

I want a Bose system put in. We have been talking about that lately. Is there another kind of system to get that's even better?

Sorry Mikey. I kinda just went with my Christmas list. :teehee:

And plasma sets are fuggen HEAVY my 3 year old 50" samsung plasma weighs well over 100lbs... dunno if the latest plasma techo has improved on that or not. On the other hand a 32" LCD set weighs practically nothing, never handled a 50" LCD but surely they dont weigh 100lbs.

I'm not a big fan of Bose but am all in for the Polk Audio stuff. They have really nice high end and also some more affordable
stuff as well. I was spoiled as a kid since my dad had the really high end SDA signature series stuff and I was fortunate enough to
get a set of his hand me downs. I know they offer packages with the sub and center channel. I tend to be a snob when it comes to my sound and I always say "If you can't hear the difference, don't spend the money" If you can, you get what you pay for :D
Polk was only available at high end stereo stores until I think the 90's when they found there way into Best Buy/Good Guys type places. JMHO

Ill second what R/T says. My entire home system is Polk Audio and it is great bang for the buck. Ive had much more expensive equipment in the past and the difference is tiny. Look on line, a lot of good buys out there.

Bose is over rated and over priced.
