Dawgs also, did I mention that our vehicles are Red? And that they have GA front tags and decals in the windows? Truck's red, Durango's red, Eldest daughters Stang is red, and the youngest one who said she wanted Anything but red now has a red crossover.... Her mitsui is Blue though

I'm a weird sort (waiting on the comments from the Lil guy) as I don't care for nadscar At all, won't sit in the chaiar all Sun/Mon/most any other day of the week watching the sports in season at the time, and like golf about as much as nadscar. I like racing but more of the kinds that aren't on TV regular.
Football is watched when the Dawgs are playing, other than that, ehh if nothing else's on or I haven't anything else to do and the Son is doing his thing I'll watch.

I guess I would be a Fresno State Bulldog fan. I did go to college there, and as a member to the ROTC program we worked parking for all the games and then got to watch from the sideline. And I do plan to attend at least one of their games this season. And all of our Bakersfield football stars like Ryan Matthews go through there it seems...

But I like watching Purdue more.

Oh yeah, I suppose I am a Mercer Bears fan. The football program is being revived.

Quote:
Although Mercer has not competed in football since 1941, the University at one time had a rich football tradition. The first intercollegiate football game in the state – and one of the first in the Southeast – pitted Mercer against the University of Georgia in January of 1892. Georgia Tech’s first football game was against Mercer in November 1892, a 12-6 victory for the Bears. Mercer’s last football game was against Chattanooga.

Mercer is going to be part of the Pioneer Football League, "a football-only conference made up of colleges and universities that participate in NCAA Division I non-scholarship football." Other members of the PFL are Butler University, Campbell University, Davidson College, the University of Dayton, Drake University, Jacksonville University, Marist College, Morehead State, the University of San Diego, and Valparaiso University.

This year is a "practice year" only - no games. I have purchased season tix for 2013 though :green:

(Mercer employs both Ben and me. And I got my MS from the School of Engineering at Mercer.)

R/T = just hates Florida :teehee:

I don't hate Florida. I just don't believe that the SEC is the center of the football universe :wall: If I root for college football, I root for the
West Coast teams since I know there is an East Coast media bias.

I am a real footbal fan!! I root for the Raiders! Just Win Baby :D Look for me on Monday Night Football vs the Chargers

I agree R/T, the SEC is very proud of itself.

From my perspective it is the conference where all the thugs go to play, but you can't argue that they tend to dominate more often than not. USC tried to get on that bandwagon themselves and tried to pay some thugs to play for them but it's harder to get away with out here and the NCAA didn't waste any time dropping the hammer. That kind of football is only allowed in Florida, apparently.

No kidding... I've never been able to call out the SEC without provoking the rage of the South!

At the very least I thought I'd get a "scoreboard" response, that is the only leg they have to stand on.

Maybe they are laying low waiting for a kill/hit of some sort. You know, when you least expect it. :teehee:

Like in the BCS National Championship game. Oh wait, that's not least expected, that's more like "the Norm"

JK... I agree the SEC is full of thugs. But I say this just after my beloved Seminoles released one of their best players, Greg Reid, for being... a thug. All conferences have bad guys. It's just the way it is.

I am not sure Nylar's comment deserves a response.

Reggie Bush's family lived in a free house.
Look at tOSU and what nice boys they were.
etc etc

I don't think the SEC has the market cornered on thugs, and I remember Alabama going through a pretty tough NCAA sanctioned stretch before they came back to dominate.*

*UGA, LSU and UT are omittied from this, they do, indeed, have the market cornered on thugs.
