Post 50k maintenance?
My Scion is just over 50k miles. I'd like to get as much preventative maintenance done to it as possible. Since I know very little about cars, I'll turn to you because you're probably the most knowledgeable people that wouldn't steer me wrong.

Assume that other than basic oil changes and small stuff, that I've done nothing else major in the meantime.

I honestly think your best bet is to take it to the dealer for its scheduled maintenance - I think for Scions the first big one is at 60k. Times have changed, the dealer is no longer the place you go to get gouged for the same work that costs half as much elsewhere (at least from my experience lately with Ford, GM, and Volkswagen). They are going to have the diagnostic tools to interface with the car and a long checklist of things that are pretty hard to get a good look at without a lift. These days if you're not using a piece of equipment that is talking to the ECU, you're not getting the whole picture. And I don't mean an OBDII tool (although those can be handy for other things).

There's not much you're going to be able to do in your garage aside from flushing the coolant and changing spark plugs, both of which will net you minimal gains in preventative maintenance.

Ill go along with what NY said and add new break pads to the mix even if they are not due.
Cheap and a lot cheaper than new rotors if you let them go too long.
Any belts also.
Wiper blades (easy to forget)

(I dont know much about Scions maintenance schedule so these things may be included if you go that route.)
