Ny,

May be true, I really dont LOVE Bourbon but its about all that tastes good to me these days besides beer. Tastes change and as much as I love to drink, the idea of some things like Vodka just turn me off. I rarely mix either so except for a little ice its just as it comes out of the bottle no matter what it is.

Around here Makers is usually the only "better" bourbon consistantly available in a lot of Bars. Old Turkey may be also, Ill have to check.

I was way into bourbons when I was drinking regularly as well. For me, it begins and ends with Wild Turkey - and for a true bourbon experience the Wild Turkey Rare Breed can't be beat. To me, Maker's Mark seemed like the bourbon that people who don't love bourbon drink. *shrug*

While I do prefer the 'Turkey, consider that I am a Georgia dirtneck, so this explains a lot. :) But the Tour at the Makers distillery? Makes it more of a contender, I believe. Plus the silly nonsense they send during the year in regards to being a "Member" is cool also. I have always been called a tool, but rarely a member. Lulz.

If you are into rhum have a nose of Barbancourt 15 year old... excellent... most excellent for the price. The 8 year old is fine as well at half the cost of a 15 year old jug.

how the fug did this turn into a drunk thread. :umm2:

Woodford Reserve is the correct answer by the way.

I have a bottle of Woodford Reserve in that wooden box with the sliding panel. Since I don't really drink anymore that's the last of my bourbon. It's still about 2/3 full and I only take it down a couple of times a year. It's really good but I still don't think it comes close to the Rare Breed for my bourbon dollar.

Tim - Purty truck!

Travis - Holy shit! Take a B-12 with every drink next time. Probably won't help with the bleed, but you'll feel healthier doing it :tard:

I like Bakers bourbon. I accidentally got Makers 46 instead of Bakers in a noisy bar once, it was pretty good, too.

We're replacing Omni's toaster car before I get anything new... And not right now. Too much other shit to deal with.

I'm doing that, and K2 as well as milk thistle. My liver just hates me, and generally speaking, I hate most people other than Max and Captain Morgan- But if you ever have the time, give me a call- I could use someone with the knowledge in the industry, as I do have a few questions.

Tim, are you one of the new Silverado owners that got an overnight letter telling them to haul - not drive - their trucks to the dealer for emergency recall service? Apparently some of them stop steering on account of the tie rods coming off.

Seems to me like every time GM "looks into" their quality control issues all they find are more quality control issues.

I have learned a few things over the last few years between Omni and my grandmother, but one thing I keep learning is that there's a lot I don't know. Omni just spent 5 days in the hospital, came home yesterday -- it's always something different to figure out. But I would gladly pass along whatever knowledge I have managed to pick up.

Yes, and that's a less desirable way to learn- But it has been my vehicle of (not technically) choice since this stuff has began taking it's toll after my stupid indulgence over the years. What was Omni in for, if I may ask?

/more thread hijacks

Omni had a seizure last Friday night. At the ER, a CT scan showed a brain bleed with possible mass underneath (aka possibly the cancer went to the brain). Transferred to another hospital's neuro unit for further eval and they did an MRI that gave us "good" news - no mass, just a bleed. He only had two seizures total before meds got it under control and he's "fine" otherwise. We don't know what caused the bleed, just guesses, but nothing immediate or life-threatening was determined.

Holy crap! He isn't a regular NSAID user (Aleve, advil, or even aspirin) is he? These also contribute to bleeding issues. I happen to know this by personal experience. I hate life some days as I can't take Aleve for my head/body aches, and Tylenol is a complete freaking joke. They will tell you Tylenol is safe for those with such a bleed, and maybe it is- Since it doesn't work.

This may be the most epic thread jacking in the history of the internet. :2thumbs:

Take your NSAID warning and raise you: He was on Lovenox - anticoagulant, because he had a pulmonary embolism back in November.

(Omni hated it, it was a daily injection, so I guess he got his wish to be taken off of it.)

Is yours one of the ones that's supposed to catch fire in today's edition of "What Recall Will GM Have to Announce Today?"

This to me is but another symptom of both the disease that forced them to take government money, and the result of actually taking the government money.

It's coming out that they've had a culture of shoving problems under the rug for at least a decade. They're going through what Ford went through 20 years ago. Their best bet is somehow poaching Alan Mulally away and letting him sort them out.

Oh yeah, because at Ford, :quote2: quality is still job1... :quote2:
