Post I found a really cool service business
I realized I needed new tires on my DD.
They seemed to go from OK to terrifying in the rain within a week.
The car has a different size on the front than the back.
That causes no one in town to have them on stock.
I finally just ordered off tire rack and was dreading finding someone to install tires they didn't sell.
I looked at the recommended installers on tire rack and one guy didn't have a specific location.

It turns out this guy bought a box truck, put an air compressor and a mounting machine in the back of it and goes around and installs your tires at your home or office.
The guy gets here, I go downstairs and pull my car around to the back parking lot and less than an hour later had my new tires on.

It was $100 or so but I had to make a 5 hour drive that afternoon so it was incredibly convenient. I can't imagine doing tires any other way going forward/

I wish I had seen this when I ordered, but you can have tire rack ship your tires to him and he brings them with him, puts them on and heads out.

I love seeing people have a good idea and serve a niche market. Go America

That is pretty bad ass. I need somebody like that who will do motorcycle tires! Mounting rubber on the wheels is the only wrench I don't turn myself on the bike.

I tried repairing a front tire on our old Ford 2N tractor. It was a lot like when I used to repair flats on my bicycles except when I got the tire back on the rim the tube had more leaks than before...ended up taking it to a tire shop and having the tube replaced. The tech at the tire shop old me that the Ford N series rims were hard as hell to get the tire off and on and wasn't surprised at all that I'd butchered the tube while attempting it....I used large flatblade screwdrivers :max:

Id use him around here but he would starve to death with business from me.

Want new tires to replace the originalss on the 2002 Trans Am due to age (the tires, not me) and you would be surprised to find out how hard it is to find the proper size. Seems everyone drives an SUV or econobox these days. Special order and $$$ for shipping. I can do that myself.

Let no one touch my car ;) Put some WS6 17X9's on it to run around on, and keep the OE rubber on the stockers ;)

Thought about that, just have wheels and tires shipped to me and keep the originals. Just cash slowing me down. :teehee:

So when are you going to pick up the car? Just mail me the 20k and Ill even deliver it to PC if thats the problem. We could even run it up to Atlanta to your storage facility. :green:

When I do buy it, you're still going to have to store it- I'm slam full, and then some. Knocking on 14 currently :/
